The Lipstick Lobby

The Lipstick Lobby is a social justice beauty brand that gives 100% of its net profits to women-focused organizations like Planned Parenthood, ACLU, Brady, unPrison Project. Born from the mounting aggressions toward women during the Trump administration, the tagline “lipstick it to the man” became a rally cry to women to speak up and speak out.
Creating this unique brand allowed me to combine my love of beauty and fashion production, with my deep-seated passion for social impact work. What started as a crazy idea that came to me while watching the news headlines, became an indie brand beloved by celebrities (Robin Wright, Courtney Cox, Reese Witherspoon, Allison Janney), and reviewed by countless magazines from Vogue and Allure to Refinery29, Coveteur. As the ultimate testament to our credibility, Gloria Steinem signed on to be an ambassador for our last campaign, benefiting incarcerated women, and shot at MILK Studios in NYC utilizing a mix of models and formerly incarcerated women.
This 4-year long project saw the creation of 4 lipstick shades, with 4 unique and successful marketing campaigns to go with. I oversaw every detail from the influencer selection to press release copy to the lipstick names, shades and hashtags.
